If you are wondering the answers to these questions, you’re not alone. Blogging in a relatively new profession. Not to mention there’s not many places to learn how to start a profitable blog. As a blogger, it’s pretty common to get questions like these!
Making money through blogging is a dream job, but how in the world are you supposed to get started when you have no idea how to get started.
Fortunately, the answer is rather simple and straightforward! In this post I’ll be sharing six of the top ways bloggers make money!
Affiliate Market
Services and Coaching
Display Ads
Physical Products
Virtual Products
Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing is one of the most common ways bloggers earn an income. It gives the influencer or in our case the blogger an opportunity to share products that they recommend and promote then in return when someone decides to purchase that product through their affiliate link they receive commission.
When you’re just beginning this is a great place to start. By choosing to promote brands you trust and like you also begin to learn what your audience finds useful and enjoys the most. This is so helpful if you are wanting to create your own products (more on that later.)
Personally, I choose to promote the brands I use on a daily basis to help my blog function smoothly and efficiently for both my readers and myself.
Tailwind Though all of the products listed have assisted me in creating an income from home, this one is my favorite. Not only does it have a ghost writer feature (Artificial Intelligence writing blog articles for you if you desire), it also has the capability to create Pinterest pins, write pin descriptions for them, and schedule a MASSIVE amount Pinterest Pins in a matter of seconds.
Services and Coaching
There’s a lot of different options when it comes to services and coaching. Many bloggers use their blog to promote services that they sell. For instance one of my closest friends started her own marketing services to help people market their business. In one month she was bringing in half of the income she had been making at her 9-5 job.
Here’s a few options for services and coaching.
Brand Design
Marketing
Social media marketing
Freelance services
Life coaching
Dating coaching
Investment coaching
Display Ads
We’ve all seen one of these. The are the common ads that. These are ads that you as a blogger have allowed to be placed on your blog. The ads shown are generally related to something you’ve shared on your blog or they are ads that are tailored to your readers. They often show up as a header, in content or as a sidebar.
Typically, you’re paid based on how many views the ads on your blog have received. This is known as your Revenue per one thousand Impressions (RPM.) In other words, if the ad on your site receives 200,000 views at $20 RPM then, you just made $4000.
AdSense: This is run by google, it is a wonderful option for new bloggers due to the fact they do not have a minimum traffic requirement.
Monumetric: Yet another great option for a blogger who may have their feet wet, and are still working on growing their blog traffic. Monumetric only has a requirement on 10,000 page views
Mediavine: This is a great choice for bloggers who are more established. Mediavine had a minimum of 50,000 site sessions, however they offer competitive RPMs.
I choose not to incorporate display ads on my site due to them carrying the potential to may my site look a little cluttered and can make website pages load slower. However, at the end of the day it is passive income, and I feel they are a great fit for the right person and the right blog.
Physical Products
Physical products are exactly that, they’re products that you would physically mail to your reader’s address. The products you are selling would be connected to the niche you are in. For instance, if you are a blogger about dog training, you could have physical products that you sell yourself (collars, treats, etc.) that would help your reader’s in their adventures of training their beloved pet. If you’re have a blog
Virtual Products
Virtual Products are products that a blogger constructs, these products are then delivered electronically to the person who buys them. Creating virtuall products takes time and effort, however they typically have the best financial return for the bloggers. Also, virtual products have little to no overhead cost for the blogger. Unlike physical products, once you create a digital product it is finished! The best part is you can sell it over and over and over again on an automatic or semiautomatic system. Basically there’s a lot of time going into creating your own virtual products, but it pays off in the end.
